Paradiski - Les Arcs 1600, is the oldest of the four Les Arcs villages with great views of Mont Blanc with tree lined runs past chalets into this purpose built village with apartments. Artificial snow making machines also mean that skiing back to the village is virtually always guaranteed. Les Arc 1600 is situated at the top of the 7-minute funicular to Bourg St Maurice, convenient and fun transport to this traditional Savoyard town and railway station. There are apartment blocks in the centre of resort with chalets placed around the blue and green ski runs.
Paradiski - Les Arcs 1800 is the most lively of the Les Arcs villages with lively apres ski with restaurants, cafes, bars and night life. Ski to and from most chalets and apartments during the ski season.
Paradiski - Les Arcs 1950 is a newly built village, beautifully designed, fully self contained with its own shops, restaurants, bars, ski school, equipment shops, thermal spa, swimming pools and underground parking. The village is being built progressively in phases and is due for completion in 2008. When finished there will be a total of 800 apartments, ranging from studios to four bedroom apartments. Each residence is built to the highest specification and will be built from authentic materials and will remain faithful to local Savoyard traditions.
Paradiski - Les Arcs 2000 with its modernistic high rise hotels and chalet type apartments, Arc 2000 is popular with experienced skiers, with ski-ing to and from the doorstep and a snowpark nearby.
Paradiski - Peisey Vallandry has become very popular recently with lots of new ski chalets and established apartments due to its midway point within the Paradiski and its immediate access to the Vanoise Express.
The Savoyard village of Villaroger is peaceful but is the base point of the worlds longest black run. Locally, the skiing is tranquil with tree lined runs leading into the village with its chalets converted from rural buildings and a couple of restaurants.
More authentic mountain villages with rustic chalets / houses and peaceful environment are Peisey, Peisey Nancroix and the small hamlets of Le Chene, Moulin and Le Matorey. These offer true French Alpine charm with some facilities such as shops and the odd bar or restaurant.
Paradiski - La Plagne, ever popular, similarly has its mix of established, new and traditional alpine property.
Paradiski - Aime La Plagne is the most modern looking village as well as being the highest of the La Plagne resorts sitting at 2100 metres. Connected to the Plagne Centre via cable-car, once there you will have incredible views of all of the Paradiski area and beyond, plenty of chalets and apartments to rent.
Paradiski - Belle Plagne, at 2050m, resembles a typical Savoyarde village. It offers excellent access to the ski school and is a favourite with families. All the resorts offer slopeside accommodation, chalets and apartments, local services include their own ski schools and links by road and piste to the other villages.
Paradiski - Plagne Bellcote - A favourite for snow sports fans, as it's the departure point for the Bellecote glacier, and also connected to the snowboard park and half-pipe. Located down from the village of Belle Plagne, and connected to the lower resorts by two new chairs. Paradiski - Plagne Bellecote is mainly made up of apartment buildings, which are placed at the bottom of the slopes that run down to it.
One of the most recent of La Plagne resorts, Plagne Soleil is set in the sunny bowl between Belle Plagne and Plagne Centre, with easy access to the extensive lift network. A car-free resort, it links directly to Plagne Centre by shuttle bus. Chalets and ski apartment accommodation available to rent.
Paradiski - Plagne 1800 is a fairly quiet resort although it does have a good selection of shops and inexpensive restaurants. Plagne 1800 was an old mining village set amongst pine trees and is full of traditional, pretty chalets that are good value for money.
Paradiski - Plagne Centre - this is the centre of La Plagne ski area. Numerous lifts radiate from Plagne Centre to every side of the bowl allowing you to get around La Plagne on your ski holiday in the Paradiski area. This was the first village to be built, in the 1960's with a character typical of the time. Shopping, restaurants, malls, services, bars and ski apartment and chalet accommodation are all brought together conveniently, so there is something for everyone
Paradiski - Champagny En Vanoise is a charming authentic alpine village classified in ‘the natural monuments and sites of France’ for its beautiful countryside and the preserved architecture of its villages. Lovely stone and wood chalets, houses and a bar
Also of note are Montchavin and Les Coches where stone and wood clad chalets combine modern and traditional elements to create beautiful villages set amongst the trees.
La Plagne - Montalbert is an unspoilt Savoyard village, largely undiscovered but with plenty of restaurants and bars and nice tree lined runs into the village with its traditional chalets.
Bourg St Maurice is at the base of the Les Arcs resorts with SNCF rail link and many shops, supermarkets and facilities that you would expect of a large town. With the funicular near to the railway station you can access Les Arcs 1600 in about 7 minutes, which makes Bourg an attractive base for skiing the area - Tignes/Val d'isere about an hour away. Plenty of modern apartment and chalet property available to let.
Landry is a village with SNCF rail link at base point midway between Les Arcs and La Plagne. Access to Peisey, Plan Peisey, Peisey Nancroix, Peisey Vallandry, Le Chene, Moulin, Le Martorey, Montchavin and Les Coches is by road with free bus available. A charming village with converted rural buildings, apartments, houses and chalets, beautiful church and with shop and bar make this a quiet base for skiing the Paradiski.
